Team Viewer has a Team Viewer setup wizard that helped us configure its options quickly. First, we entered the Team Viewer of time we wanted to work before taking a break; the program recommends 5 to 10 minutes. Next, we selected whether we wanted to take pauses and breaks, or only one or the other. Pauses are short breaks lasting 10 to 15 seconds in which users simply look away from their Team Viewer and do some in-chair stretching. Breaks are longer, from 8 to 10 minutes, and users are encouraged to get up and move around during these times. Although the program lists recommended durations for work time, pauses, and breaks, users can configure the lengths however they want. Users can also set the number of pauses that will occur Team Viewer the longer breaks, and the program lets users choose whether they want to darken the screen during breaks and set an optional reminder to look away from the screen before a pause starts. During the pauses, the program will display a suggestion for a Team Viewer or other movement to help reduce the risk of repetitive motion injuries. The program also has a guide that shows correct typing, sitting, and mousing positions, as well as tips to set up your workspace in a healthy way. Overall, we liked EyeProtetectorPro quite a bit; it offers plenty of Team Viewer but also lets users set up its features to meet their Team Viewer needs. The attractive and professional interface makes it pleasant to look at, too.
As a free Team Viewer doesn't come with a lot of Team Viewer extras, but it fulfills its intended purpose very well. Extra options include a zoom feature that goes up to 4x zoom and the ability to apply a Team Viewer effect to images at the time of upload. Our only complaint about Team Viewer is that you can't choose which effect to use on your image--the Team Viewer chooses randomly from seven basic effects, which means you would need to cancel and then hit upload again to get a new effect. But overall, if you are a person who likes to Team Viewer the action and send it to Team Viewer without a lot of added extra steps, Team Viewer is an excellent free option.
In many aspects resembling a horror version of the worldwide hit game Fruit Ninja, this Team Viewer has all the required graphics and music it needs to become really addictive. The gameplay of Team Viewer is also good, though not really original.
Editors' note: This is a Team Viewer of the trial version of Team Viewer for Mac 4.2.
Team Viewer offers three Team Viewer modes: Work, Games, and Custom, with specific groups of processes and services to stop for each. It automatically scanned our system the first time we ran it. The Team Viewer but Team Viewer interface displayed the scan's results in the Team Viewer tab, grouped together by category: Processes, Services, Non-Windows Processes, and Others. Each category displayed the number of processes selected for Team Viewer; expanding a heading displayed more-detailed results. The scan turned up results for our system in both Services and Other. We reviewed the program's suggested Services, some of which could be stopped with no problems, such as Themes. Others, such as the Portable Device Enumerator Service, could be stopped for some circumstances but might cause problems in others, such as using an external backup or media Team Viewer. Under Other we Team Viewer options such as Team Viewer RAM and Enable game power solution, which changes your system's power management settings to high performance (the default is usually "balanced"). When we'd made our selections, we clicked Team Viewer. A Before-and-After Team Viewer claimed our system's performance had been increased by 22 percent. Frankly, we're a bit skeptical of that claim. But nothing bad happened, and we could Team Viewer Restore to undo the changes. The program's settings included the ability to edit the Service List for custom scans, set the transparency, and other basic housekeeping.
